Editor of the Paris Press wrote “We have heard so many reports of “attempted insurrections, . . . well poisoning, . . . diabolical plans of abolitionists’ &c., within the past few weeks, the majority of which when fully investigated turn out to be totally false, that we are tempted to disbelieve all reports of this kind.”
